This day is for you if you enjoy being creative, want to try out different art activities, explore artists, and create your own work in a fun and supportive environment - all while working towards your Arts Award Discover certificate. All requirements for the Discover Certificate should be competed by the end of the day, making this a focused and satisfying day.

About the day

Through Rooted Wings’ nature-based learning approach, learners will have the opportunity to complete the Arts Award, a nationally recognised qualification. The programme is designed to support the development of creativity, leadership, and communication skills through hands-on, experiential learning. A key focus will be on using, processing, and creating with natural materials sourced from the surrounding environment, enabling learners to explore artistic expression while developing a deeper understanding of and connection to the natural world. The Team:

Julia Bidoli is an artist specialising in natural and recycled materials. She has a deep love of nature and facilitates art workshops under that include environmental themes, either in the material or subject matter. She focuses on creativity for mental wellbeing and enjoyment, believing creativity to be a core part of full, healthy human existence.

She has a BAFA specialising in sculpture and printmaking. She’s from Cape Town, South Africa, but has developed a deep love for her new home of Yorkshire and continues to learn about the plants, animals and people who live here.
